Intel Pentium B950 Vs Core i3-2310M

Pentium B950 Vs Core i3 Pentium B950 Vs Core i3-330M Benchmark Pentium B950 Vs Core i3-2310M Pentium B950 Vs Sandy Bridge i3 advance differences

It is always interesting to compare two processors with same clock frequency to see what difference it makes due to any change in the architecture or the feature of the two processors. The Pentium B950 and Core i3-2310M both belong to the Sandy Bridge group characterized by a decent entry level graphics performance ( though still lagging behind the AMD’s Llano notebook processors). They are both dual core and are clocked at 2.1 GHz.

However, Pentium B950 does not has Hyperthreading which should lead to slightly lower performance in multithreaded environment where processor can take advantage of the “cycle stealing” and inefficient code. Core i3-2310M also enjoys higher Cache.

Some more details of Intel Pentium B950

Based upon Sandy Bridge architecture Pentium B950 is the elder brother of the more populate Pentium B940 processor. If we wish to compare Performance wise, it is better than the Arrandale Pentium processors aka, Pentium P6100 and P6200). The Hyperthreading in B950 ( as well as the Turbo Boost )is disabled in the Pentium B950, which leads to lower performance than the similarly clocked second generation Core i3 sandy bridge processor.

Some more details of Core i3-2310M

The Core i3-2310M is the second generation Intel Core i3 processor improving significantly upon the architecture that evolved from Arrandale. Although turbo boost is not available in the core i3-2310M ( The newer turbo 2.0 technology, that increases the time for which processor can be in the boosted state, is available only on the second generation core i5 and i7 processors), the processor still shows significant perdormance improvement over similarly clocked 1st generation core i3 processor. The more significant improvement has been in the area of integrated graphics unit.

  1. i think the b950 processor is better and good for entry level. Thought it lack in performance because of Hypertherading is disable but still its a decent processor and affordable to those people who are not looking for high end performance. i.e it is best to those guys who are looking for only for there normal work. And in fact it does runs good on high end games but the problem is that we have to run on low resolution i.e 600*800.

    Check this benchmark result comparison

Core i3-2310M is better than the Pentium B950. The B950 based system will be cheaper though.

    It have any difference too?
The B970 is not included Intel integrated servbices for example Intel Insider privacy spying and any “trusted computing” who is the aim you’re a trusted person ti a 3th person (for a remote hacker).
If you don’t wish own privacy just buy a new i3 and i5 and i7 processored hardwares.
