Intel Pentium B950 vs AMD E-350

In terms of pure performance, the Intel’s Pentium B950 is way ahead of the AMD’s E-350 Brazos APU ( Accelerated Processing Unit). The Pentium B950 belongs to the most recent Sandy Bridge group of processors – with Hyperthreading disabled.

Both the processors are dual core, but, the B950 has a much higher clock frequency ( 2.1 GHz Vs 1.6 GHz). The E-350 is intended for cheaper and smaller notebooks in the range of $350 or so. The B950 based notebooks may be $50 to $100 more but may be worth.

The E-350′s HD 6310 integrated graphics is however, very good and has comparable performance to Intel’s HD Graphics.

Some more details of Intel Pentium B950

Based upon Sandy Bridge architecture Pentium B950 is the elder brother of the more populate Pentium B940 processor. If we wish to compare Performance wise, it is better than the Arrandale Pentium processors aka, Pentium P6100 and P6200). The Hyperthreading in B950 ( as well as the Turbo Boost )is disabled in the Pentium B950, which leads to lower performance than the similarly clocked second generation Core i3 sandy bridge processor.

Some more details of AMD E-350

AMD calls it Accelerated Processing Unit. The common persons still call it a processor. The E-350 is combines two processor cores and a graphics core in a single package that consumes low power and is highly suitable in the design of low cost ultra mobile netbooks and notebooks.
