Intel HD Graphics 3000 vs AMD Radeon HD 6310

Intel HD Graphics 3000 vs ATI Radeon HD 6310

Intel’s HD graphics 3000 is the part of the Sandy Bridge processor while AMD Radeon HD 6310 ( Also called ATI Radeon HD 6310) is a part of the AMD’s Zacate APU.

For the last 2 or 3 years the focus has of the competition has shifted not only in the processor but also, how tightly you can integrate components external to the processors. There are some inherent advantages of the Integrated Graphics – including lower power consumption and availability of higher memory bandwidth.

The comparison is probably not fair, as the Radeon HD6310 is part of the ultra low cost APUs intended in the notebooks in $300 range (check for example – the AMD’s E-350 and E-450 APUs). The Intel’s HD Graphics 3000 is found in almost all the Sandy Bridge processors.

The Radeon HD 6310 slightly  trails in performance as compared to the HD Graphics 3000. The integrated graphics in the AMD’s newer Llano APUs outperform the HD 3000 – but then, it is a different story.

Price talk, worthless comparison, sandy bridge expensive btw.

Thanks for the comparison. I needed it to decide whether to buy a cheap AMD- (E-450) or Intel-Laptop (P6200, HD3000).
