Intel Core i5-2410M Vs Core i3-2330M

Both the Core i5-2410M and the i3-2330M are dual core Sandy Bridge processors differing in performance mainly due to the Turbo 2.0 support in the Core i5-2410M. The Core i5-2410M also has slightly higher base clock frequency than the Core i3-2330m( 2.30 GHz Vs 2.20 GHz). All this lead to noticeable performance improvement in the Core i5-2410M over i3-2330M.

Intel made significant improvement in the Turbo Boost in the Sandy Bridge over the earlier Arrandale Turbo Boost. You will therefore, gain more by opting for core i5 Sandy Bridge.

Some more details of Core i5-2410M

The core i5-2410M is a relatively fast processor belonging to the 2nd generation Intel Core i5 processor. The most characteristic improvement as compared to the 1st generation Intel Sandy Bridge processors is in the area of Integrated graphics powered by the Intel HD Graphics 3000 core. Integrated graphics is a part of the silicon and not a separate discrete component or a card. The Integrated graphics and the processor cores are all in one die unlike the earlier 1st generation processors, in which the processor and the integrated graphics were on separate die. The base frequency of the graphics runs at 650 MHz that can extend to 1.20 GHz depending upon the demand. The new Turbo boost 2.0 significantly improves the performance of the processor.

Some more details of Core i3-2330M

The Core i3-2330M marginally improves upon the core i3-2310M and should therefore offer a performance improvement of the order of 4%. The turbo boost is not available with core i3-2330M which will reduce its performance as compared to the core i5 processors. The graphics performance is decent with Intel’s integrated graphics 3000.
