Core i7-3610QM Vs i7-2670QM

– The Core i7-3610QM belongs to the newer Ivy Bridge processor while the i7-2670QM is the earlier Sandy Bridge processor.

– The i7-3610QM is clocked marginally higher (2.3 GHz Vs 2.2 GHz) . Along with the improved Ivy Bridge architecture, it brings close to 10 to 15% improvement in synthetic benchmarks. You may like to notice that 15% processor clock advantage does not translate into 15% faster SYSTEM. To make the system faster you will also need SSD hard drive etc.

– The Core i7-3610QM also comes with much better integrated graphics, called HD Graphics 4000. It brings close to 50% improvement over the HD Graphics 3000 in the Core i7-2670QM.

  1. Pilsbury says:

I have heard that the Ivy Bridge heats too much. Does it affect this one as well ?

  2. Silicon says:

Nan that is for desktops and that too when you overclock. There is no overclocking in notebooks so you should be fine with heat issue.

  3. Tariq says:

JUST SHRING THE DIE 32 TO 22 AND SOME HD 4000 GRAPHIC ..
AMD IS BETTER WITH DUAL GRAPHIC 7SERIES AND APU 2ND GEN TRINITY…
AMD IS THE BEST CHOICE .

  4. Alexandro says:

    Tariq,

The AMD Trinity is better in graphics but in processor speed, Intel is way better. And the HD Graphics 4000 is not too slow, unless you want to play cutting games.
