– The Core i7-3610QM is belongs to the newer Ivy Bridge group while the Core i3-2350M is an earlier Sandy Bridge processor. The dual core i3-2350M is obviously no match for the quad core i7-3610QM. And the difference is not just due to the double the number of cores. The Turbo boost plays a major role. We also get 10% improvement due to architectural improvements.
With the Ivy Bridge, we also get a better HD Graphics 4000 ( 50% faster than the HD Graphics 3000).
The Core i3-2350M is still a good processor if you need a laptop for daily work, emails, facebook and document editing. The Core i7-3610QM is better if you need to run applications several times a day, that take more than a minute to complete.
