AMD A8-5500 Vs Intel Core i3-2120

The AMD’s A8-5500 belongs to its newer Trinity group characterized by a better graphics and more powerful piledriver cores. The Intel’s Core i3-2120, on the other hand is an earlier generation Sandy Bridge processor.

The A8-5500 has four cores which makes it better against the dual core i3-2120. However, it may also be more expensive, as, it is launched recently. If you are into gaming you may want to check the A8-5500’s integrated graphics which may be sufficient for most cases.

Some more details of A8-5500

The Trinity A8-5500 APU bring with a great integrated graphics in the form of Radeon HD 7560D, that allows you to play most of the games at decent fps – and yes, you don’t have to put up an extra graphics in most cases. That makes it better that the Intel’s Sandy Bridge processors. You dont have to think twice when you are looking for cheap gaming desktop processor APU. In CPU performance the quad core 3.2 GHz is not bad at all, especially considering, ,most of us will rarely reach 30% of the CPU utilization. And if you do need the CPU horsepower, the Intel’s latest Ivy Bridge is a competitive choice.

Some more details of Core i3-2120

The Core i3-2120 is the second generation Intel Core i3 processor ( Also called Sandy Bridge Processor) improving significantly upon the architecture that evolved from Arrandale. Although turbo boost is not available in the core i3-2120 ( The newer turbo 2.0 technology, that increases the time for which processor can be in the boosted state, is available only on the second generation core i5 and i7 processors), the processor still shows significant performance improvement over similarly clocked 1st generation core i3 processor. The more significant improvement has been in the area of integrated graphics unit.
